Do not let price be the only factor you consider in deciding on which company to hire. Here are a few things you need to know when shopping for a pergola:

DO NOT USE PINE
To quote a job cheaply, some builders will use pine for pergolas. We do not build pergolas with pine because pine is an inherently unstable wood and does not do well in a pergola type structure. Pine is somewhat less expensive than cedar but in six months to a year, you will wish you had spent the additional money for an all-cedar pergola.

HIRE SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE
We have built hundreds of pergolas without complaint. We are A+ rated with the BBB. We have an A+ rating with Angie's List. We carry Worker's Comp and Liability insurance. We stand behind what we sell and build. That's why the Huntsville Botanical Gardens has hired The Pergola Place to build three separate pergola projects for public areas at the Garden.

BEWARE THE "WE DO IT ALL GUYS"
Ever see the trucks for the guys who know how to do everything? They always want money up front and IF they show back up to do the job you may end up wishing they hadn't. At The Pergola Place, we do pergolas and outdoor structures. We don't do pavers or patios. We don't do electrical work or raccoon removal. However, if you want pavers or electrical or landscaping, we work with qualified contractors in all those fields and can give you some solid recommendations. When the hardscape guys need a pergola, they call us. And when we need a patio to go with an outdoor project, we call them.

WE ARE NICE
